 Traditional Stories and Fairy Tales

We will teach the curriculum using a topic based approach, linking our learning with the topic of traditional stories and fairy tales.

Each week begins with a learning challenge extended to the children. In Class 3 we are enthusiastic and independent learners!

 

Overall Learning Challenge - Should Goldilocks say sorry? Week 1 - How do we know if a character is good or bad? Literacy - Identify some good/bad chacacters from traditional tales and use adjectives to describe the attributes of a particular character. Look at characteristics for both types of character Numeracy - Look at direct comparisions (referring to theme whenever possible - big, bigger, biggest etc) Geography - The local area. Children will begin this topic by investigating their own addresses and making a class pictogram of how they travel to school (link to Numeracy) Art - To use various media to represent their ideas. Design / Technology - make moving pictures from traditional tales. Science - Light and Dark - children to know that they need light in order to see and that dark is the absence of light. PE - Gymnstics Sequencing moves together including rolls, balances, jumps.
