Houses and Homes

This half term we will be learning through our theme of Houses and Homes. Through this theme we will cover a wide range of the curriculum areas including, literacy, numeracy, drama, art, design and technlogy, history, geography and ICT.

 

Each week we will have an overall question and the children will investigate this through various activities in order for them to come to their own conclusion. Children will be able to use this website in order to access linked websites so that they can continue their learning at home.

          

 Theme - Houses and Homes

Overall Question - Who lives in a house like this?

Literacy - Instructions, Recount and dictionary work - link to types of homes, stories which include different types of houses, houses around the world.

Numeracy - Number bonds, addition subtraction facts, doubles, shape - 2d and 3d

Geography - Houses around the world.

Art - Weaving

Design / Technology - make 3d sculpture of a lighthouse., make a sandwich following instructions

Science - materials - identify a number of materials and discuss their propetities. Choose a material to be fit for purpose and investigate

PE - Dance - isolate parts of the body, move in an appropriate way to various pieces of music.
