Our main themes this half term are:

France: In the Brain Zone we will continue to learn new French words and phrases (including greetings, numbers and colours).

Geography: Our Local Area - we will be investigating features of our school grounds and surrounding area.  This will include looking at maps, photographs and making surveys of things we do and don't like about the environment.

Also we will be fundraising for CAFOD during Lent and preparing for Easter.

Our Curriculum
Minimize

We've been very busy in Year 3!   We've been learning about:

The Vikings in History (why they came to Britain, what they ate, wore and liked to do and lots more!)

Making databases about our class in ICT (all about what we look like and our pets).

In Science our topic was 'Material Properties' and next it is 'Rocks and Soils' (Get ready to dig!)

We've been busy in Maths too - learning about describing shapes, using number lines, multiplication, fractions and lots more.

Our Literacy work has included reading, writing and performing poems and raps (which was great fun!)  We also learnt about creating super story settings using lots of descriptive words.  We will be able to use these in our next Literacy topic which is 'Adventure and Mystery'.

Class 8 now know three notes on the recorder and can play Hot Cross Buns beautifully!

We look forward to learning lots more this half term.   Keep up the good work Class 8!
