We have set up a Parent Council at St Kentigern's to aid communication and promote partnership between parents, school staff and the wider community.
The Parent Council is run by parents, and for the parents, enabling us to have a voice in the school. We hope the Parent Council will identify and represent the views of the parents on the education provided by St Kentigern's and other matters affecting the education and welfare of our children.
We hold meetings at least once a term to share ideas, receive feedback on school policies and procedures and to provide mutual support for all the members of the school community.
The upcoming dates for Parent Council meetings are:
- Tuesday 24th January, 9-10am - Guest Charlotte Leather from the Emotional Well Being Team, talking about ESafety.
- Wednesday 22nd February, 6-7pm - Guest speaker to be confirmed.
- Tuesday 20th March, 2pm - Guest Vicky Brand from the Oral Health Promotion Team discussing dental health and diet, with a dvd.
We try to alternate between daytime and evening meetings to allow as many parents to attend as possible, taking into consideration the needs of working parents.
Currently, the core group members are as follows: Pauline Davin, Michelle Greenhalgh, Emma Kutryk, Jane McAleese, Pearl Marie Mensah, Lucia Tenjo, Penny Wenham, but we would welcome further input from anyone who would like to be involved on a regular basis, If you would be interested in joining the group, please leave your name at the office for the attention of Pauline Davin or Penny Weham.
